A Day in the Life of a Therapy Session

Where movement meets meaning, and healing begins within.

In this space, therapy is not just a conversation—it’s a full-body experience. We honor the mind, the heart, and the body as equal partners in your healing journey. Because true transformation doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we show up fully—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

The Approach: Mind + Body

My practice blends traditional talk therapy with intentional movement. This isn’t just a pairing—it’s a philosophy. Movement is medicine. And healing the mind without tending to the body leaves something vital untouched.

Since launching my counseling practice in 2006, I’ve witnessed the barriers many face when seeking physical wellness:

  • The overwhelm of choosing the “right” modality

  • The financial strain of multiple services

  • The vulnerability it takes to simply show up

So in 2010, I became a certified yoga instructor to bring movement directly into the therapeutic space. No referrals. No extra steps. Just integrated care that meets you where you are.

What to Expect

Each session is uniquely tailored to your needs—but here’s a glimpse into the flow:

  • Grounding Arrival
We begin by checking in—with your breath, your body, and your emotional landscape. This sets the tone for presence and safety.

  • Talk Therapy & Cognitive Exploration
Through conversation, we explore thoughts, patterns, and narratives. We use cognitive behavioral techniques to gently challenge and reframe.

  • Mindfulness Practices
These may include breathwork, guided visualization, or sensory grounding—tools to anchor you in the present moment.

  • Movement Practice
Depending on your energy and intention, this might be:

    • Seated breathwork and gentle stretches

    • Standing postures to build strength and release tension

    • Flow sequences to reconnect with your body’s wisdom

  • Integration & Reflection
We close with reflection and strategy—leaving you with tangible tools to support both your emotional and physical wellbeing.

Why It Matters

We live in a world that keeps us in our heads. But healing asks us to drop into the body—to feel, to move, to release. Embodiment is the bridge between knowing and becoming. And in this practice, we learn how to cross it.

You won’t just leave with insight. You’ll leave with tools. With breath. With movement. With a deeper connection to yourself.

Because healing is not one-size-fits-all.
It’s a dance. A dialogue. A journey.
And together—we grow.
